Dr. Schmelzer is the most attentive and caring of plastic surgeons I’ve been to. All surgeons have a bit of edge and strictness, which is a desirable trait in a surgeon. Dr. Schmelzer is a competent, insightful practitioner who takes the time to consider his patient’s needs. I certainly felt confident in his abilities and had a good experience with his office. The nurse I had, Wendy, supported me through my absolute terror at anesthesia. She has been nothing short of amazing. My experience has been great. Also the office gals are friendly and nice.

Honestly, I’ve debated whether or not I should write this for a year and a half but here I am. I got a tummy tuck from dr s. And it’s the biggest regret of my entire life. I cry almost every day when I look in the mirror. The consultation I should have listened to my gut, but I knew something was off immediately when he was late, rushed in, and basically took 10 minutes to roast my body and pressure me into a fully mommy makeover. When I said I wanted less, him and his whole team practically told me that I would regret it because I would still have a horrible pair of breasts still. The most horrific part is that without asking me, he comes over to me and pulls out his phone and starts showing me photos on his phone of women in very vulnerable positions mid and post surgery in full dissection. The photos were some of the most graphic things I’ve ever seen in my life and it was so inappropriate I was and am still in complete shock. What kind of business practice is that? I am sure photos of me and my innards have also casually been shown now to hundreds of consults which is mortifying to me. Shame on you and your team. The surgery The day of my surgery, I waited 4.5 hours after my scheduled time to actually go back and yet again, because they were behind schedule they rushed everything which made an already nerve wracking experience even more nerve wracking. To make matters worse, the nurse they contracted to help me during the after care/ wake up time told me and my husband to ignore after care instructions and shower the day of (this is a HUGE no, you shouldn’t for a week or two) because “everyone feels better after a shower”. Don’t worry I didn’t shower (thank god). She also got frustrated and yelled at me, yes yelled at me not even 10 minutes out of surgery because I was needing too much assistance in the restroom. The recovery The recovery was at least a million times more brutal than they let it on to be. I get it, they don’t want to scare people. But they significantly underplayed it. I also had a drain stop working the first day and THEY WOULD NOT GET BACK TO US. I was freaking out and so was my husband! Our after care forms and online research said this was not good and they told us to call immediately if this happened, yet when we finally reached them they said “okay no worries it’s fine”. I now have horrible scars, and the worst of which is my belly button scar. It looks nothing like anything I have seen before, and I followed all after care instructions. It looks like an actual hack job and I’m so embarrassed to show my stomach. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and I seriously, truly regret this decision with my whole being and am heartbroken by my experience and results. Please don’t go here.

My experience was extremely disappointing. I underwent surgery to change my saline implants to silicone and transition them from over the muscle to under the muscle. Despite paying for both the implant change and the under muscle procedure, the surgery was conducted without the implants being moved under the muscle as agreed upon. Shockingly, I only discovered this after questioning the procedure, and was then informed about supposed complications. Not only did I not receive the surgery I paid for, but it was apparent that this fact was not going to be disclosed to me transparently. Additionally, I was left with unsightly, jagged scars and was never presented with the option to rectify this issue or have the correct surgery performed. The lack of accountability for their mistake and the disregard for my well-being is unacceptable. This should have been refunded. Based on this experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend this provider. I've had to seek another doctor post this surgery for revisions.
