Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed with our experience here. We just left the office today for the last time. My niece is 19 years old and saved up her money for a long time to get filler around the bridge of her nose, which has a little bump naturally (this is something she has been self-conscious about for years). Initially, on the day of her appointment, she received a consultation and 0.5cc of filler the same day. She was quoted at the price of $330. We were under the pretense that Dr. Jeffrey Darrow has experience in this field (for 26 years) and is knowledgeable and does these type of procedures often. We assumed that he knew (based on the assessment of her nose), how much filler she would need to produce the desired effect of filling/"straightening out" the ridge of her nose. She went in with full faith in his professionalism & expertise in this field and agreed to have the 0.5cc filler, which she was told would produce the desired effect. She went home (nose slightly swollen) and the next day her nose was the same as before she went in. She called the office and explained the situation and they told her they would be happy to touch it up and she could come in to have it "fixed". There was no mention of cost and my niece was under the pretense that no additional charges would be incurred. She went into the office today and they injected 0.5cc's of filler into her nose (which only took approximately 5 minutes). As she turned to leave, Alexandria Forero (office coordinator & aesthetician) turned to Dr Darrow and said "No charge?" to which he replied "$165". She then sheepishly proceeded to ask for the money. The doctor then presented the possibility that a rhinoplasty could be an option ("if this doesn't work") and seemed to encourage that procedure (which I believe can cost upwards of $4,000) We were not bothered at the fact that they asked for more money for an additional injection. What we did not find professional, was that we were NOT told about the additional charges until AFTER the procedure was done. After asking more questions, I found out that they did not explain things to her at her first appointment that there would be a possibility of needing more injections based on the assessment of the baseline of her nose (and what was required according to their expertise to produce the desired effect). I feel like this was deceptive and they were not forthright from the beginning about explaining to a 19-year-old girl all of the possibilities for what could happen with these procedures as well as additional charges that may be incurred. More patient education would be beneficial for any prospective clients in the future. They were extremely nice when we went into the office and answered all of the questions AFTER the procedures were done. I feel like in order to improve their client experience, these things should be addressed BEFORE any procedures are done. Unfortunately, we will not be going back or referring anybody else to their office.
