Dr. Broumand’s Unique Approach to Rhinoplasty

Dr. Broumand’s philosophy for rhinoplasty focuses on achieving and maintaining a harmonious facial balance. Rather than just altering the nose, he aims to improve its relationship with other facial features. Utilizing advanced, minimally invasive techniques, Dr. Broumand delivers natural-looking results that enhance the overall appearance of his patients.

Benefits of Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty at 740 Park Plastic Surgery offers several benefits:

  • Enhanced Facial Harmony: Reshape your nose to achieve a balanced and proportionate facial appearance.
  • Increased Confidence: A more aesthetically pleasing nose can significantly boost self-esteem.
  • Improved Functionality: Address structural issues like a deviated septum to improve nasal airflow and alleviate breathing problems.
  • Correction of Trauma or Congenital Defects: Restore your nose's appearance after injury or correct congenital irregularities.
  • Highly Personalized: Rhinoplasty can address various concerns, including size reduction, nostril reshaping, nasal tip refinement, improved symmetry, contouring the nasal bridge, and removing humps or bumps.

What to Expect from Your Rhinoplasty

Every rhinoplasty procedure at 740 Park Plastic Surgery is personalized to meet the unique needs of each patient. From the initial consultation to the recovery period, Dr. Broumand and his team ensure you are well-informed and supported throughout the process.

Preparing for Rhinoplasty

The journey begins with a consultation with Dr. Broumand, where he listens to your concerns and discusses your options. Using the VECTRA® XT 3D imaging system, he helps you visualize potential outcomes. If rhinoplasty is deemed suitable for you, detailed pre-surgical instructions are provided, including avoiding blood-thinning medications and undergoing any necessary medical tests.

The Rhinoplasty Procedure

Rhinoplasty is typically an outpatient procedure performed under general anesthesia. Patients are advised to arrange transportation for the day of surgery. The procedure, which generally takes one to two hours, can involve either closed or open techniques:

  • Closed Rhinoplasty: Involves tiny incisions inside the nose, leaving no visible scars.
  • Open Rhinoplasty: Includes a small incision along the outer vertical strip of the nose, allowing for more extensive reshaping.

In both techniques, Dr. Broumand meticulously re-contours cartilage and bone to achieve the desired result. Occasionally, a cartilage graft may be necessary to perfect the outcome.

Recovery After Rhinoplasty

Post-surgery, some bruising is expected but will gradually diminish. A nasal splint is often placed to maintain the new shape during the initial healing phase. Most patients can resume normal, non-strenuous activities within a week, though strenuous exercise should be avoided for at least two weeks. Any potential visible scarring from open rhinoplasty should fade over time.

Rhinoplasty Results

Initial results may be obscured by swelling, but as it subsides, the enhanced appearance becomes more evident. Full results can take up to a year to be completely visible. Dr. Broumand schedules several follow-up appointments to monitor your progress and ensure optimal healing.
