Meeting Dr. Macrae in 2024 was the best thing that could have happened to me. After my reduction procedure, I'm no longer suffering from constant back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain, and chest pain. I found Dr. Macrae to be professional, patient, and easy to talk to.
Dr. Macrae and the office staff is AMAZING, KIND, DEDICATED and CARING. Being able to wear a shirt that's not 2 sizes bigger, or a ONE-PIECE bathing suit is a delight!
Thank you Dr. Macrae for the wonderful work you provide. The mental and the emotional journey is just as important as the physical journey, and Dr. Macrae, I hope you know how much you contributed to my mental and emotional journey.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Honestly, I thought I had already reviewed her, but searching up her name again on here brought up nothing.
This all happened in 2021.
First up, I was supposed to original have had surgery through another doctor in the practice she works in, but if i went with Julia Mac Rae, I would have the surgery 3 months sooner, let alone a consultation.
So I went with Julia instead, because 3 months sooner! Why not! Biggest mistake of my freaking LIFE.
Not only was Doctor MacRae completely rude and cold to me the whole time, she had a "you're stupid, I'm the doctor, -I- know better than you" attitude, THE WHOLE TIME. The only time she didn't have this attitude was when I was finally handed off to another department, because I was now in the hospital, during a two week stay.
That was the ONLY time she ever listened to me, but she finally started treating me nice once I was STUCK IN THE HOSPITAL DUE TO HER UNPROFESSIONALISM.
She sent me home same day. Usually, (and pretty much 100% with these surgeries), you're kept overnight for observation to make sure you're okay and nothing is going wrong.
She not only sent me home same day, I was still woozy from anesthesia when she signed and sent me out the door. Even the recovery nurses where confused as to why I wasn't staying the night, and were worried (boy should I have listened to them). But I'm getting ahead of myself in this story....
She sent me home WITHOUT a drain put in, which is what you need to have in post mastectomy or breast reduction. She not only did not put a drain in, she was emphaticly stating I had no need for one. (I 1000% did)
Not only did she not listen to me about the fact that I had allergies to several antibiotics, she REFUSED to put me on the one that I have been on every, single solitary surgery before AND AFTER THIS BOTCHED ONE OF HERS.... and I've never had an issue. Yet the one time that a doctor completely ignored me, and prescribed me different antibiotics- and ones that I was allergic to at that, let to me having an intense allergic reaction, which made the infection that was in my body 100% worse.
I was wary from the start. Even though I was keeping myself exceptionally clean and doing everything I was supposed to, to a T (I've had many surgeries before this one. I know the procedures and rules, what to do and not...and am very on top of taking care of myself after a surgery/healing time after).
When I send messages through the patient portal and had follow up visits, I straight up told her I believe something was wrong, and that I was in the start of an infection.
She told me I was absolutely wrong, things were going fine.
A day and a half? 2? later, I believe, I was sleeping 19 hours a day because I was in so much pain and didn't feel well.
I asked a couple nurse friend of mine if I should go to the ER, and they told me an emphatic yes.
I am ever grateful for those handful of nurse friends, because they truly saved my life that night.
I went in to the ER, and not only was it an infection, it was sliding into sepsis VERY fast.
They had me in the satellite ChristianaCare for as long as it took to put a BIG bag of Vancomycin into my body, fast and full drip - as fast as they could crank that sucker up.
They then transferred me to the main hospital, and put me in an extended stay ER room. They kept me on vancomycin for a day and a half? I do believe, and then Julia MacRae sent me home early, AGAIN. AGAIN!
Even the doctors and nurses working then said I should of had a full three days of Vancomycin accepting the very strong antibiotic, and it moving through my body.
Not surprisingly, less than 24 hours later, I was back in the main Christiana hospital, this time with shakes, sweats, and oh, 102+ degree fever.
Not surprisingly, the Vancomycin didn't have time to work.
Just say no. I finally paid the very last payment yesterday towards the 11K HOSPITAL STAY BILL SHE LEFT ME WITH, DUE TO HER INEPTITUDE. After 3 years, it's finally paid off.
She butchered me, & somehow is still practicing.

In the fall of 2018, I met this wonderful Dr/ person as an 68 year old transgendered woman I had come for a consult for Beast augmentation.
She took her time and answered all my questions. The office staff was wonderful pre and post op.
Wanted to say I look and feel wonderful.
BTW its my one year since my operation
Highly Recommend this Dr.
