Understanding Earlobe Damage and Repair

Earlobes can become stretched, torn, or misshapen due to various factors including heavy earrings, clothing snags, or accidental injuries. Genetics and gravity also contribute to earlobe deformations that may require professional repair.

Procedure Overview

Earlobe repair is a straightforward surgical procedure typically performed under local anesthesia. The process involves carefully reconstructing damaged earlobe tissue to restore its natural appearance and function.

Candidacy for Earlobe Repair

  • Enlarged or stretched earlobe
  • Torn or damaged ear tissue
  • Misshaped earlobe due to genetics or injury

Surgical Details

The procedure can be performed immediately after an injury or delayed until tissue inflammation subsides. Repositioned tissue is typically closed with sutures, which are removed within 7-10 days of the procedure.

Recovery and Expectations

Most patients experience mild discomfort following the procedure. On average, patients can re-pierce their ears approximately three months after the repair, depending on individual healing rates.

After reading the previous review and having a horrible experience myself, I'd never recommend anyone let this man touch your face. He should be ashamed of himself. Ariel, if you see this please reach out to me.

I had a bad experience getting my rhinoplasty from Dr. Ricciardelli. I had the procedure done April 3rd of 2023, so it's been over a year and a half and I am very unsatisfied with the results. My nose had no crookedness before but now my septum is wavy and thick with scar tissue. Very asymmetrical. One of my nostrils is now significantly smaller than the other. I told Dr. R about how I wasn't as satisfied as I had hoped and he told me for a year to wait for the swelling to go down, which wasn't my main concern, then told me to use Flonase allergy spray. When I started crying because my concerns were avoided and I was frustrated about it all, he told me to LOOK INTO COUNCELING. He even finally agreed it was crooked but tried to tell me it already was before. That was hard to hear and its a shame that he treated me like that after he messed up my nose. I have not gone back to get it fixed there because he said the procedure would be of no cost but the anesthetics would cost thousands. Not risking him making it worse. The nurses and front staff are nice at least.

I can’t say enough about the positive experience we had with Dr. Ricciardelli. I had a very bad scar on my stomach from a previous abdominal surgery and he made it look amazing. He and his team treated me with the upmost compassion and made me feel like what I wanted was going to be top priority. Dr Ricciardelli is a gifted surgeon and is at the top of his field. Thank you for changing my life.

I saw Dr. Ricciardelli in Supply and Wilmington for a melanoma surgery on my face. He felt like a friend who was genuinely interested in my care and outcome. Even more than me. I only cared about getting the melanoma out of there whereas he also cared about the scarring afterwards. Allison and all the other staff were great as well. They all made me feel genuinely cared for.

Very poor bedside manner but he has all the credentials to conduct cosmetic/plastic surgery. Brace yourself for his detachment.
