A breast lift, also known as mastopexy, is a surgical procedure that raises and reshapes sagging breasts. This procedure removes excess skin and tightens surrounding tissue to create a more youthful and uplifted breast profile. Many women choose a breast lift to counteract changes in their breasts due to pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight fluctuations, aging, gravity, or heredity.

The Breast Lift Procedure

The procedure typically takes two to three hours under general anesthesia or intravenous sedation with local anesthesia.

Recovery After Breast Lift Surgery

Following the procedure, patients are closely monitored in a recovery area. The breasts are wrapped in gauze dressings and supported by an elastic bandage or support bra to minimize swelling and promote healing. Most patients can return home the same day but should arrange for someone to drive them and stay with them for at least the first night post-surgery.
