Understanding Breast Lift (Mastopexy) Surgery

Mastopexy, commonly known as a breast lift, is a surgical procedure designed to correct and reshape breasts that have experienced ptosis, or sagging. This condition often develops after pregnancy, significant weight loss, or natural aging processes.

Indications for Breast Lift Surgery

  • Elongated breast shape
  • Enlarged areola
  • Loss of breast volume and firmness
  • Asymmetrical breast positioning

Surgical Techniques

RenewalMD offers customized breast lift procedures tailored to each patient's unique anatomical needs. Surgical techniques may include:

  • Minimal incision around the areola
  • Vertical extension (lollipop incision)
  • Horizontal extension (inverted T incision)

Procedure Overview

Breast lift surgery is performed in a dedicated operating suite, utilizing specialized outpatient cosmetic surgery techniques. The procedure typically takes approximately three hours, with patients ready for discharge after a brief recovery period.

Recovery and Expectations

Patients can expect the following recovery timeline:

  • Moderate pain during initial 72 hours
  • Return to work within 7-14 days
  • Restricted strenuous activity for 4 weeks
  • Full physical activity resumption after 4-6 weeks

Potential Benefits

Breast lift patients often experience improved aesthetic proportion, enhanced self-confidence, and a more youthful breast appearance. The procedure offers a relatively safe and reliable solution for addressing breast ptosis.

Giving a 2 cause while my surgery went smoothly i developed an infection i booked an appointment only to be told when i arrived that dr. Shanklin was no longer with that practise. I got no call before hand about him leaving. Saw some Russian woman who instructed me to put medical honey on it. It made it worse went to er put on antibiotics an was told not to return an find a general surgeon that was local. Ended up returning to the er after the weekend my infection was worse. I'm now on yet another antibiotic. It's still not looking any better. My advice stay away from Renewal MD now that Dr. Shanklin has left. I was really fighting not to give this a 1 star review but while shanklin was with them i felt welcome and not at all uncomfortable. Last time i was there i felt like i was being judged an i didnt feel welcome or comfortable at all.
