I had a preventative double mastectomy with Dr. Peled in November 2023 due to a genenic mutation. She was fantastic from our very first meeting through our follow-up visits (the last one was a few weeks ago). I've never had a single moment of regret about my decision and my results are truly amazing. I'm so grateful for Dr. Peled and her team... because of their help I can go about my life without worrying about constant imaging or waiting for an inevitable cancer diagnosis. Most days, I completely forget that I had the surgery done (which is best case scenario IMO), but in the moments I remember I'm not upset about it because I look great AND feel great post-surgery.

I discovered Dr. Peled while researching nerve preservation mastectomy after my medical team in the South Bay indicated that a mastectomy would be the 'safe and best' approach to address my breast cancer diagnosis. Dr. Peled's office scheduled me for a quick consult, and after reviewing my imaging, she determined that a lumpectomy would be appropriate given the location of the tumor. I was surprised and relieved to hear this. As a breast cancer survivor herself, she understood my concerns on surgery outcomes and thoughtfully addressed them. She also suggested holding off on reconstruction until after radiation, as every woman's body heals differently, and it was possible that reconstruction would not be needed. Now this is clearly not what one expects to hear from a plastic surgeon and I really appreciate that she focused on what was the best outcome for me. Through my surgery and follow up visits, Dr. Peled and her team were accessible, reassuring and warm. Most importantly, Dr. Peled ensured that my needs were being prioritized throughout - she engaged with my medical team to ensure that the treatment path was research-based and responsive to my concerns. As a patient, I could not have asked for a more competent and compassionate doctor through the incredibly stressful journey that follows a cancer diagnosis. I recommend Dr. Peled strongly and wholeheartedly.
