My plastic surgeon used this surgery center for my reduction. My daughter was called and told to come and get me, my surgery was done. She got there with her 3 yr old daughter. The lady at the desk told her Ithey were getting dressed and I'd be out. After a bit the lady left. No one came back nor said anything to my daughter she sat there for an hour and a half with no information. Apparently I wasn't waking up. My daughter had to find a bathroom for my granddaughter. This is a horrible way to treat people.

Dr Bensimon performed neck lipo and after a year post-op, the result is lopsided. One side had noticable more fat removed from the other. I brought this up to him and he appeared to get defensive and claimed it was a nice result. This is despite the nurses agreeing that they saw it was lopsided. I really wish I hadn't chosen him for this procedure.

What do you say about a person who gives you your life back? Thirteen years ago, after lengthy research, I chose Dr. Bensimon as my surgeon to perform a complicated abdominoplasty. The surgery included removal of stretched skin, forming a new navel, and repair of separated abdominal muscles resulting from pregnancy. Dr. Bensimon and his excellent staff brought me through what could have been a trying and traumatic experience with professionalism, knowledge and confidence. My results were, and continue to be, amazing and life-changing. With gentle guidance and masterful expertise, Dr. Bensimon gave me my body back. Today, I write as a happy return patient. Dr. Bensimon recently performed my nearly full-body liposuction procedures (chin/neck, upper arms, pubic area, and inner thighs). Once again, I found myself in the safe, capable hands of a true master of his art. I’m two weeks post-operative, and my results are already incredible. I can’t imagine going to any other surgeon; I joked with Dr. Bensimon that he needs to stay in practice until my first ‘real’ facelift in ten years. Working with him is a collaboration; we make decisions together based on my body composition and goals to achieve realistic outcomes. Dr. Bensimon is a sought after speaker and international leader in his field. To be treated by a recognized talent of the plastic surgery discipline has been a pleasure. And that he practices in Portland? What a gift. For those of you looking for similar solutions, my advice is this: You do your body and psyche a disservice when chasing low-cost cosmetic procedures. Dr. Bensimon holds the highest accreditation available in the field, and his excellence shows in every interaction, procedure and outcome. When it comes to your body, there is no replacement for talent, experience and integrity, no matter how low the cost, how big the promises, or how often their ads appear on TV. Dr. Bensimon, if you’re reading this, thank you. You changed my life. If you ever leave Portland, I’ll go wherever you are for my next procedures. You’re a peach. With gratitude, Melody Bridges

First I will say I am not a patient of Dr. B, but my partner recently underwent liposuction at the Bensimon Center. From what I can tell the surgery went well without any major complications a week after. Also, Dr. B appears to be an experienced and skilled plastic surgeon. My concern is that he highly minimized the potential impacts of the surgery, including the pain and recovery time during my gf's initial consultation. He seemed to rush my girlfriend to put down a hefty deposit on the surgery soon after the consultation--where he apparently painted a rather rosy picture of the recovery. My girlfriend has a high BMI (classified obese) and Lipo is NOT typically recommended for high BMI or obese patients. There are more risks associated with high BMI patients, and they are typically not as happy with the results for a variety of reasons. I tried to talk her out of the surgery, and was happy when she texted back one day that the surgeon refused the consultation because of her higher BMI. But that was another local plastic surgeon that refused to do the surgery based on her BMI. Probably a more ethical one. Right after that, the Bensimon Center called and scheduled a consultation with her and eventually decided she was a decent candidate for Lipo. My gf somehow left that consultation thinking an $11,000 surgery was the magic bullet ---a "minimally invasive" procedure that would take a very short time to recover from. Although I will admit it's easy to be cynical about elective cosmetic surgery in the first place--not all procedures and outcomes are created equal. Based on her BMI--I think this surgery was ill advised, no matter how much experience Dr. Bensimon may have with high BMI patients. The first week has been rough for her physically and psychologically and I hope it gets better. I really hope she likes the results as time goes on and she is fully recovered (usually within 6 months). But i sense already that she regrets her decision and the hardship she has put on her body--unnecessarily. And she got the surgery on a payment plan--so she still has to pay for the remaining balance within 12 months before interest kicks in. This is A LOT of money for her. She is a student. Maybe it's COVID and times are tough--and Dr. B needs more more surgical patients to keep his business profitable? My gf maybe would have been a better candidate once she lost some weight through lifestyle changes and exercise (which she is doing--but harder now with the difficult LIPO recovery). I heard he was nice and my gf seems to like him--so this review reflects my opinion alone--not hers. Dr. B does have a lot of positive reviews. So I think that she is likely to have gotten the best lipo possible and hopefully she won't have any serious complications during her recovery. But she didn't need liposuction, and recovery is long and can lead to more surgeries (e.g. tummy tuck). Just not worth it. If you're considering this procedure with a high BMI, please reconsider. It's probably not the solution for you and LIPO comes with way more discomfort and risk than you realize. Surgery is always invasive on some level. Don't fool yourself.
