Understanding Labiaplasty: A Personalized Approach to Intimate Wellness

Whether caused by childbirth or genetics, an enlarged labia can lead to physical discomfort and reduced confidence. DeLuca Plastic Surgery specializes in labiaplasty procedures designed to help women feel more comfortable and self-assured.

Reasons Women Consider Labiaplasty

Many patients seek labiaplasty to address specific concerns:

  • Experiencing pain during intercourse
  • Discomfort when wearing tight clothing
  • Self-consciousness about labial appearance

Surgical Procedure Details

DeLuca Plastic Surgery performs labiaplasty using precise surgical techniques. The procedure typically involves creating an incision in the labia's inner side or along its border, allowing surgeons to reshape and reduce tissue. Most procedures are completed in less than one hour, with patients experiencing minimal downtime.

Surgical Technique

Two primary incision approaches are utilized:

  • Inverted triangle incision in the labia's midline
  • Border incision along the labia's natural contour

Recovery and Post-Operative Care

Patients can expect a carefully managed recovery process. Dissolvable sutures are used to promote natural healing, typically dissolving within seven to 21 days. Patients are advised to follow specific post-operative guidelines to ensure optimal healing.

Post-Surgery Recommendations

  • Continuous icing for the first 24 hours
  • Avoid vigorous activities for three weeks
  • Refrain from sexual intercourse for one month
  • Return to normal activities within three to four days

I called, made an apt, a week later got them removed, today, i had gotten the stitches removed and now it’s healing time. i am so grateful for deluca and giving me a chance to appreciate myself the way i see myself now. will be coming back soon!

I saw Dr. Deluca on 10/16 to get a suspicious mole removed. He was very nice and the procedure went well. I was told no news is good news and they would call if the labs came back with any concern. Fast forward to 11/14, I decided to call the office to double-check the status. Come to find out the mole was positive for squamous cell carcinoma and Dr. Deluca's office had this information since 10/21. The nurse who called me said " the Dr. was out of the office for a couple of weeks," as an explanation of why no one had called me. 25 days passed between when they received the pathology until I called to double-check the results. How much time would have passed had I not called? I have been in the healthcare field for 20 years, I do understand mistakes happen. I truly hope this office takes this as an eye-opening learning experience and implements protocols that will prevent this from happening in the future. I am lucky that the mole I had removed will likely not turn into anything, but what if that wasn't the case? Please do a root-cause analysis and update your back office procedures. It could save a life.
