Brachioplasty (Arm Lift) in Knoxville, TN

What is an Arm Lift?

An arm lift, medically known as brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure designed to remove excess skin and fat from the upper arms, resulting in a smoother, more toned appearance. This transformative surgery helps patients achieve a more defined and contoured arm profile.

Benefits of Arm Lift Surgery

  • Removes sagging or loose skin from upper arms
  • Provides a more youthful and toned arm contour
  • Increases confidence in sleeveless clothing
  • Addresses skin changes from weight loss or aging

Surgical Approach

Dr. Jay Lucas takes a personalized approach to arm lift surgery. During your consultation in Knoxville, he will carefully assess your arm contour and skin elasticity. The procedure typically involves making an incision along the inside of the arm to remove excess skin and fat, creating a smoother and firmer arm profile.

Recovery and Results

Recovery from an arm lift occurs in stages. Most patients can return to light activities within two weeks, though strenuous activities should be avoided for 4-6 weeks. Swelling and bruising are common initially but will gradually subside. Following post-operative care instructions is crucial for optimal results.

Candidate Considerations

Ideal candidates for brachioplasty include individuals experiencing upper arm skin laxity due to aging, significant weight loss, or genetic factors. A comprehensive consultation with Dr. Lucas will determine your candidacy and create a personalized surgical plan.

I met Dr. Lucas in 2002. My 4 year old son had a compound dysplastic nevus with severe atypia (precancerous mole) removed and the pediatric dermatologist recommended that we have a wide excision done by a pediatric plastic surgeon. That is when I met Dr. Lucas. Then in 2004 - 2008 we attended the same church. I had the pleasure to get to know Jay and his family. In 2010 my older son slid into a door in gym class. Farragut Middle called and said 'your son had an accident. He is bleeding in the office. Come get him.' I called Dr. Lucas and he happened to be in the office that morning. We drove straight to his office. Dr. Lucas stitched up his forehead. I own a glass shop --- yes, Dr. Lucas has stitched up my hands. In April 2023, my dad was involved in a horrible accident. The Emergency Department could not repair the dog bite because there was not enough skin left to suture. The dog ate it. The ED said dad needed to be seen by a plastic surgeon. I knew who to call, Dr. Lucas. I emailed Dr. Lucas on Saturday. He replied within 2 hours. My dad was seen in his office on Monday and had surgery on Wednesday. Each time I have been in need, I turned to Dr. Lucas and he gladly helped. In 2002, I walked my 4 year old son into surgery and in 2023, I walked my 91 year old dad into his office. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Lucas! Thank you!! Laura Goff Parham

I went to Dr Lucas about 3 years ago now for a rhinoplasty. Cost was fine, bedside manner could definitely be a bit better. I didn’t have a huge problem with my nose, just a small jump and an overall too big for my face look. Now after the rhinoplasty, I love the slope of my nose and I think it looks super natural. My problem is my nostrils are far too overexposed now. Where I didn’t have a problem prior to my rhinoplasty, I suddenly had one after that will require another surgery. Additionally, he takes the cast off after only 3 days and then you’re supposed to wear tape for 2 weeks. The cast removal was quite painful and wish it would’ve just been on for one week and the skipped the tape process. Also, my incision on the bottom of my nose was pretty bumpy and not discreet at all so I had to go back and get it shaved down and pay for that. If I were to do it again, I would not go to Dr. Lucas.

Excellent! I won’t go elsewhere. I’ve had four procedures done with him. I could not be happier. The staff is up front, honest and very very very compassionate. Dr Lucas takes his job very seriously and is a perfectionist. Exactly what you want from a cosmetic surgeon! He will not give you false hope or tell you that your results will be something they won’t be. He’s realistic and honest. There is always a risk with surgery, cosmetic or otherwise, that said, he is who I trust and have had as perfect as can be expected results with. Highly highly highly recommend!

Ended up finding another plastic surgeon to correct Dr. Lucas's MAJOR MISTAKES! After $20,000 or so,I finally have breasts that are the same size, and shape. What a nightmare!!!! He and his staff are very compassionate, until there's a problem!

I paid up front for work to be done . The first procedure went bad . Developed bad infection. MRSA. Had to be told that by another dr. In another town. I should be refunded half my money. Going to discuss with proper authorities.
